LCWA 20th Anniversary Donor Event

5:30 PM – 7:30 PM, Addlestone

As part of the yearlong celebration of LCWA’s 20th Anniversary, the School will host a donor recognition event on Thursday, April 30 from 5:30 until 7:30pm in Special Collections on the third floor of Addlestone Library. This event will honor the donors who have contributed to the School’s success over the past 20 years. Invite only.

Black Alumni Council members and friends are invited to stop by, connect with fellow Cougars, and learn more about the Black Alumni Council and the ways we support and uplift Black students and alumni at the College. Whether you’re reconnecting with old friends or meeting new members of the community, this is a relaxed opportunity to gather, share stories, and celebrate the legacy and future of Black excellence at CofC. Registration: $20.00

Black Alumni Council Fish Fry & Fellowship at Avery Research Center

Join the Black Alumni Council for an evening of great food, music, and community at the BAC Fish Fry & Fellowship at Avery. Set against the historic backdrop of the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture, this lively gathering brings alumni and friends together to celebrate connection, culture, and Cougar pride. Enjoy a classic fish fry, an open bar, and a DJ spinning throughout the evening as we reconnect with fellow alumni and welcome new faces into the community. Whether you’re coming to catch up with old friends, make new connections, or simply enjoy a fun night in one of Charleston’s most meaningful spaces, this is a celebration you won’t want to miss. The evening features Vegas-style games, delicious hors d’oeuvres & cocktails, beer & wine; and a casino style show featuring crooning from a trio of current students backing a vocalist and a big band orchestra comprised of alumni and musicians from the Charleston Symphony Orchestra backing three alumni vocalists. This family friendly drop-in event will feature the CofC Emergency Medical Services Team, the Palmetto Palace Mobile Health Unit, and the School of Health Sciences’ Fitness and Community Health Testing program. Alumni and friends are encouraged to stop by for tours of the renovated Silcox Center, enjoy a picnic lunch, and games in the Silcox Gymnasium.

Department of Communication Alumni Brunch

Join fellow alumni of the Department of Communication at the College of Charleston for a spring brunch on the piazza. Enjoy a relaxed brunch setting while reconnecting with classmates and faculty for conversation, connection, and community.

Celebrate Derby Day in style at the Avery Research Center’s 6th Annual Kentucky Derby Party on Rivers Green behind Addlestone Library. Guests will enjoy Derby-inspired fare, signature beverages, music, live viewing of the Kentucky Derby, and a festive hat contest, all in support of the Avery Research Center’s work to preserve and share African American history and culture.
