Ticket Policies and FAQs

We hope you will join us for Spring Alumni Weekend and purchase tickets to Saturday’s A Charleston Affair! Please read all ticket policies before making your purchase. By purchasing a ticket to an event, the purchaser agrees to abide by these policies and to make any guests aware of the policies as well.

A CHARLESTON AFFAIR TICKET POLICIES

– Tickets must be purchased in advance through Cvent. No tickets will be sold at the door. Beware of purchasing tickets from third-party vendors or individuals you do not know personally.

– All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. The event will be held rain or shine.

– All guests must be ages 21 or older by May 2, 2026, and provide a valid, government-issued, photo identification to be admitted. Possession of a fake ID and underage consumption of alcohol are criminal offenses in South Carolina and violate the College of Charleston Code of Conduct.

*If you are a graduating senior and will not be 21 years old by May 2, please email Meredith Chance in the Alumni Office to make special arrangements at [email protected]

– Attire is coat-and-tie/cocktail. Think garden party or summer wedding. The event is held on a variety of uneven surfaces, so for your safety please wear comfortable shoes and avoid high or spiked heels.

– The Clear Bag Policy is in effect for A Charleston Affair.

– Proceeds from A Charleston Affair support the Alumni Association’s mission to serve the College of Charleston. At least $5 of each ticket purchase may be deductible for federal income tax purposes. Consult your tax professional for advice.

– VIP tickets are non-transferable (must be used by the attendee/guest whose name is provided at the time of purchase).

– General Admission tickets are transferable; the attendee/guest name does NOT have to match the ticket.

– If A Charleston Affair guest is found inside a VIP area for which they do not have a ticket, they will be escorted out of the event by security.

– A Charleston Affair is drug, tobacco, and smoke-free. This includes cigars, vaping, etc.

– Possessing or carrying a weapon onto any College of Charleston property is a violation of both state law and campus policy.

– Early Bird Tickets go on sale early March. Ticket prices will increase April 6, while supplies last.

– Once a guest departs A Charleston Affair, re-entry is not permitted.

Please Note: If A Charleston Affair is canceled by the College, the Alumni Association will refund the cost of the ticket(s) to the purchaser, minus any merchant and ticketing fee charged by our ticketing service, Cvent.
